ABSTRACT
In this paper by using ATP software (a powerful tool for simulating transient in power systems)
performance of distribution network is investigated when a fault happens. This work includes modeling of
a distribution network and considering the random nature of fault. The fault parameters are producing
using Monte Carlo procedure in order to investigate its effects on consumers.
This paper three strategies for protective devices are introduced and their effects on voltage sag
characteristic of distribution network are analyzed by comparing the results with ITIC curves. Simulation
results show that coordination of protection devices has a significant effect on voltage sag characteristic
of the modeled system.
